Happy Spring 2023! Scattered rain showers are rolling through western Washington tonight with a gradual decrease into early Tuesday. A convergence zone between Seattle and Everett will hold more persistent rain showers through Tuesday morning before falling apart. News Showers will be heavy at times, numerous, and continue into Friday. A combination of cold air moving in, heating under partly sunny skies, and unstable conditions overall will potentially create thunderstorms, and\/or showers with graupel, small hail, a mix of snow and rain along with downpours through the day Friday. Mountain snow levels will fall for snow showers through the Cascade passes.

"Moisture associated with this storm system will spill into the Great Basin and the Rockies on Monday, resulting in periods of mountain snow and valley rain showers," the National Weather Service said. "Snowfall totals are forecast to surpass a foot in the higher elevations of the Great Basin, the Wasatch and the western Colorado Rockies."
